Whitworth University in Spokane houses a continually flourishing English program, where students discover new talents, differing perspectives and old treasures. Set in Westminster Hall on the northwest side of campus, our department offers diverse classes, allowing students to challenge and understand the world of literature through critical lenses. This program supports student work through student-professor interaction and a commitment to the mind and heart.
Westminster Attic is the upstairs room to everything English. Far less dusty than implied, we function as a storehouse for past and present student work. These pieces of writing have been honored or published through our university, and students spend copious amounts of time and energy creating them. Included on this website are conference nominees, Chapbook contest winners, writing award achievers and staff picks from past issues of our undergraduate literary magazine, Script. In the Attic, we aim to showcase student work in their pursuit to honor God, follow Christ and serve humanity.
